Newport and District Devlopment Company (NaDDCo) purchased Canon Killeen Park for the benefit of the community in late 2019, and in September 2020, they launched an online survey to get feedback from the community on how they would like to see it developed. The online survey replaced the planned public consultation which could not go ahead due to covid restrictions. They were overwhelmed by the response, which saw 114 people submit their ideas and priorities for the park, from both a practical AND a design viewpoint. The results of the survey led NADDCo to commission local resident and artist Manuel Santiago to complete some sketches based on the most popular suggestions.
